Volunteer Bill of Rights


 

Volunteers - interested, engaged and committed - are vital to our member organizations. Up2Us values your contributions and, as such, we plege to uphold the following Volunteer Bill of Rights.

 


As a volunteer in an Up2Us organization,


You have the right to:


1. Select a task that is meaningful and challenging to you;
2. Receive the necessary orientation, training, and supervision to perform the task;
3. Be treated with respect and as an important member of the organization;
4. Ask any questions that will help clarify the task;
5. Receive constructive feedback about your work as a volunteer;
6. Be kept updated about relevant topics at the organization; and
7. Give the organization input on how to better meet the needs of their volunteers.

 


You have the responsibility to:


1. Assume only the amount of work and responsibility that you can handle;
2. Perform the task assigned to the best of your capabilities;
3. Meet all time commitments required of your task;
4. Provide feedback on ways to improve your task performance;
5. Abide by all organizational policies and protocols;
6. Work and communicate with volunteers and staff as required by your task; and
7. Give the utmost respect to those confidences entrusted to you.
