Baltimore Ravens invest $1.5 million to bring youth coaches, mentors to city

"The Ravens are partnering with a nonprofit called Up2Us Sports that places AmeriCorps volunteers as sports coaches around the country. The coaches are trained to use sports as a way to help children “achieve their potential” and deal with life’s challenges."

Olympic bronze medalist swimming Kim Vandenberg loves working with children, and it showed recently at the Joe Brown Park Pool in New Orleans East. Vandenberg, an athlete ambassador for Up2Us Sports, held a swimming clinic for 23 sixth-graders at ReNew Schaumburg.
