• Not sure where to start with the wide world of Sport-Based Youth Development (SBYD)? In this video series, we explore the profound impact that SBYD coaches can have on the youth they serve and introduces the core competencies of SBYD and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) that they need to be great coach-mentors.

  • Sports coaching is about skill-building. Understanding the power of skill-building is also foundational to linking the skills that kids are learning on the court or field to other parts of their lives. In the third video in our series, we’ll explore these strategies for deepening and accelerating the skill-building process.

  • Trauma-informed coaches have an understanding of how the human brain responds to stress and trauma and can recognize that the behavior of young people tells a powerful story. This video clarifies the importance for trauma-sensitive coaches to understand that there’s more than what meets the eye when it comes to the reactions young people may have in our programs.
